Blasting and Painting by Rope Access
An industrial paint or coating is used on the outside of buildings to protect their structure. It can be used to protect steel from corrosion and destruction by outside forces including extreme weather conditions, or to help fireproof buildings. There are a number of different industrial coatings which can be used for a variety of different projects.
When carrying out industrial painting work, a technician will follow a four stage process. To begin they will blast the surface to roughen and prepare it for the primer, which is stage two. Once the primer has been applied, the technician will then apply the intermediate coat to protect the building or structure from leaks. Lastly a top coat will be applied for aesthetic purposes and to provide chemical resistance.
Why Would You Carry Out Industrial Painting by Rope Access
Due to the differing types of paint and strict preparation standards, painting is now a much more skilled operation than it was before. It requires a trained professional to correctly prepare the surface before applying the correct type of paint to ensure the surface is properly sealed and coated.
Prior to this, you may have found painting jobs used unqualified specialists which led to badly applied coatings and costly structural repairs.
Rope Access is the preferred method for blasting and painting work on high buildings for a number of reasons. Firstly, rope access is a much cheaper alternative to erecting work at height solutions such as scaffolding. Secondly, rope access has logistical benefits in that it requires no machinery or heavy equipment which can not only disrupt foot-flow on the ground outside your building but it also bad for the environment. Lastly, rope access is incredibly safe and fast, meaning painting work can be carried out efficiently and quickly.
