Confined Spaces & Atriums
Inspection & Rope Access Specialists are a leading work at height company that use rope access techniques to reach difficult or confined spaces.
Our team are fully qualified in rope access and specialist in confined space rigging techniques and have many years’ experience in providing maintenance work and inspections - amongst others services - in confined spaces and atriums.
There are certain areas, such as vessels, ducting, tanks, silos anything that is classed as confined space that simply cannot be reached by other techniques. Safe systems and procedures for accessing such areas are important for those who require maintenance work to be conducted in their structure or building.
In the UK, there are laws in places for confined space work. A worker entering, controlling or supervising work within a confined space must have received proper training. Failure to do so can result in prosecution under the 1997 Confined Space Regulations.
Inspection & Rope Access Specialists are properly trained in confined space work and know how to properly assess potential risks before conducting work. We use rope access techniques to position the team inside the confined spaces to complete inspection and maintenance work. With our rope access specialists you can be safe in the knowledge that you are working with a team of highly professional, safe and reliable individuals.
Site visit will be required before all risk assessments and method statements are completed prior to teams visiting your site, full onsite briefing are conducted during the toolbox, sentries are located outside the confined space along with rescue personnel for escape purposes, signed in and out registers are signed before and after access to confine space as per our procedures.
Full breathing apparatus is available depending on your project requirements, all our teams are fully trained in full BA systems, gas testing, atmospheric checks.
Atriums (atria) and internal roofs, particularly those in buildings with complicated architecture, are normally beyond the reach of normal cleaning routines and may only be accessed using scaffolding or MEWPs for maintenance work.
In most circumstances where atriums need to be accessed hydraulic platforms or scaffolding towers will be used and work is normally carried out at night.
Rope access techniques make accessing atriums simple. Our systems rarely require scaffold or cherry pickers and installation and setup time is shorter and more cost affective.
Why Choose Rope Access as Work at Height Solution?
Rope access is a specialist technique that has many benefits over other, traditional work at height methods such as scaffolding and cherry pickers. In particular rope access is favourable for its cost efficiency, quick installation and removal of access systems and the minimal disruption to low level working.
Inspection & Rope Access Specialists
Confined spaces and atriums are particularly difficult to access using traditional height methods as they tend to be internal and/or lack the space required for setting up large systems or machinery. This is why rope access is a perfect alternative.
Safety is paramount in any work at height job and the correct fall protection systems must be in place to ensure that a worker can be efficiently rescued if necessary. Inspection & Rope Access Specialists are a group of qualified and experienced technicians who work efficiently and safely to complete work.
